On-site
- The Bar: Open all day and into the night for drinks and cocktails, coffees and tea. There’s a water fountain on one end serving endless still and sparkling filtered water. The banquette seating on the other has lots of power points under the bench to keep you powered up.
- Snug & Sitting room: Bring a glass of wine and sit down to enjoy a good book or a game of chess in a super comfy sofa. There are plenty of great books, chess, backgammon and cards to keep you happy for hours.
- Terrace: drinks as well as food are served here all day and into the night when lanterns are lit. Ask for a blanket if it gets chilly.
- The Open Space: The beautiful studio, sitting next to the Terrace and opposite the Dining room is where yoga and mindful classes are held. You’ll also find a Peloton bike and Concept 2 rowing machine there too which are free to book and use whenever they are free.
- Beach: Drinks in the Dunes cocktail hampers and Beach Picnics can all be ordered to take to the beach. They also have complimentary beach towels, beach bags and wellies in reception to use.
- Beach Hut Mini Spa: The Beach Hut in the corner of the Coastal Garden, offers a wide selection of treatments, from facials to massages, book at reception.
- Ecological Coastal Garden: Carefully planted with drought tolerant coastal plants it’s a haven for bees and butterflies and a great place to zzzz the afternoon away or read a good book.
Local area
- Camber Sands: Across the road from the Gallivant. Walk straight ahead and over the sand dune. You have arrived. Camber Sands is the biggest sandy beach in the South East of England, with one of the longest stretches of sand dunes in England. If you want the picture-perfect beach with rolling sand dunes, then this is top of the list.
- Rye Harbour Beach: Only 15 mins drive away, with plenty of parking. An expansive beach just a 5-minute bike ride down the river estuary (10 mins by foot). The path runs directly alongside the river with fields of samphire on your left and the Nature Reserve on your right. When you get to the beach, past the old pill box and famous black and red cottage, depending on what the tide is doing you will either see a shingle beach at high tide or an enormous expanse of sand at low tide as far as you can see.
- Vineyards: With a climate and soil very similar to the champagne region of France, Kent and East Sussex are very quickly becoming covered in vines and wineries.
- The Kitesurf Centre: Offering a variety of thrill seeking activities such as kitesurfing lessons, kite buggying, kite landboarding, stand up paddleboarding, wingsurfing & adventurous group activity days. With such a range of activities available for groups and individuals, they can help you find a new passion, but most of all enjoy learning something fun and exciting!
- Rye Watersports: A Royal Yachting windsurfing and dinghy sailing school, a BSUPA Stand Up Paddleboard centre and a BKSA kitesurfing school. Classes are held either on Camber Sands or on their nearby lake.
- Action Watersport: Watersports centre based on 22 acres of private land, with a purpose-built lake. Includes a waterski slalom course, a barefoot water ski ramp and a pro watersports shop to cater for all your needs.
