Welcome to our beautiful Gothic Church!

Built in 1832 the Old Gothic Church stands in the sleepy village of East Horrington, Somerset, 2 miles from Wells, Britain’s smallest city. The Gothic church is a fine example of early Victorian sacred architecture and has been recently renovated to the highest of modern standards whilst retaining all of its original features.

It is now a unique and fun party venue for private celebrations offering sumptuous living spaces and chambers with luxurious interiors.

This delightful property is situated 5 minutes from the historic and thriving market town of Wells with its cobbled streets and quaint shops.

  • Renaissance Room - Romantic twin room overlooking rolling countryside. Sleeps 2 guests
  • Pugin Room - Named after the gothic fable – luscious furnishings and canopied beds. Double & single. Sleeps 3 guests.
  • Bell Room - Delightful double room with gothic window and lovely views. Sleeps 2 guests.

14 comfortably in either the banqueting gallery or the breakfast room.

Catering:
Offered on a ‘venue only’ or ‘semi provisioned’ basis which includes the option of a weekend champagne brunch! In either case, soft drinks, tea and coffee are included along with delicious treats.

Dining:
A good selection of pubs and restaurants in Wells, or book a delicious catered meal served in the banqueting gallery or just have a take away delivered in. Also well worth a visit; the world renowned Slab House Inn, its menu created by TV chef Brian Turner, a fabulous and totally affordable eating option – one mile’s easy walk away.

Disabled facilities:
Please contact to discuss your requirements. There is a ground floor bedroom and bathroom but original narrow doorways and downstairs step make it unsuitable for wheelchair access.

A unique venue for Corporate and Media events – film/video shoots, business meetings and lunches, training workshops and team-building – please contact us to discuss your ideas.

Per person (prices are based on a minimum of 12 guests for a 2 night stay).

  • £199 per person for the ‘Champagne Brunch’ option.

From quiet family get-togethers to house parties – the Gothic Church is a unique and fun modern party venue for all occasions and will ensure wonderful memories of your special celebrations.

Booking Terms:
A non refundable deposit of £250 for a weekend booking or £500 for a Special Break. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to the date of your stay.
